2008 – he beat Gavin Rees to win the WBA crown.
Kotelnik is no stranger to fighting in Britain, which would beg the question, why would he give Khan a shot now?

It’s a mysterious web thats being woven here, Khan coming off the back of being knocked out last september and then beating a past his best, Barrera.
I hope he can do it, but if he does, will it be too soon for him to be defending against World Champions?

I like this lad, hes a very good fighter but suffers from what I call “the benn effect” ie, hes hit too often.
This promises to be a make or break fight for Froch, if he wins it’ll open up the America for him, if he loses then its back to British and European titles at best.
Give him credit though for taking it on, which is more than Calzaghe has done in the last couple of years..
