Brawn’s diffuser wins case

A victory for common sense and innovation, as Brawn, Williams and Toyota win their case over their diffuser!
The FIA have ruled that they can continue to use it and it does not break the rules of the sport.

An excellent start to the season for the Brawn team, which has brought back excitement and drama to formula one, with the most money being spent no longer the deciding factor in where the championship goes, can only be a good thing.
One things for sure, other teams will be using the same style diffuser very soon which will level the playing field even more, putting the skill of the driver in control is the answer to the routine we have seen in formula 1 for the past few years.

Button takes Australian pole!

A superb late run from Jenson Button captured pole position for the 2009 Australian grand prix.
Not since Jackie Stewart in the early 70′s has a new formula 1 team taken pole position in their debut grand prix.

Button’s team mate Barrichello just failed to get pole and lines up second on the grid, making it a team 1-2 for Brawn on the front row.

Have you seen the cars this year? The front ends are huge and cover the front tyres whilst the rear wings don’t look to be covering any tyres. With the dispute about under-car aerodynamics set to go to appeal, any victories for the teams using it could be short lived, which I think would be damaging for the sport.
Lewis Hamilton finished last and the Ferraris finished outside the top five places!
